Chapter 6

The children slowly passed the dual WW2 sentry boxes and wearily clambered up the steep hill of the geological outcrop known as ‘The Ness’. The name was thought to have originated from ‘le Nez’ in French, due to its appearance. From Teignmouth, the rocky cliff looked rather like a nose protruding out into the sea!

As they reached the hotel half way up, they were greeted by an overdue, thoroughly welcome sight – Andrew! Alongside him stood a tall man dressed in fatigues. The twins dumped their heavy bags and ran the last few meters to greet their friend at long last. The tall man walked down and threw the children’s baggage over his shoulder, as if it were nothing more than a wayward regimental scarf.

“You’ve done it!” grinned Andrew. “I knew you would. Meet uncle Woody.”
“At your service,” barked the tall man, giving a salute. “Not bad you two, not bad at all! In fact, close to the all-time record. Only Jock would have done it faster. You’ve got the message then?”

Sarah handed over the curled up leafet.
“Ah yes – perfect. All the defence locations noted and marked. Well, come inside, there’s one last thing to do.
But don’t worry, you already have everything you need between you. You just need to put it all together.”

Andrew beamed while the bewildered and weary twins followed him inside the hotel.

“Here are the instructions,” said Woody.

Write the solution to Chapter 1,
then James’ solution to Chapter 2j,
then the James’ solution to Chapter 4j,
then Sarah’s solution to Chapter 2s
then the 1st number from Sarah’s solution to Chapter 3s
and then Sarah’s solution to Chapter 4s.

“That’s the message. Now you just need to know who we are. Well, you might find us anywhere in the world - so get ready to set sail as here's the last challenge...”
